Processing of background tasks when Wonder Lister is running in a networked environment

Background tasks are important to keep the data within Wonder Lister database up to date. Besides fetching periodic updates from eBay, background tasks also submit listings scheduled within Wonder Lister.

Wonder Lister is designed such that no configuration is needed to be done by a user as to which workstation should process the background tasks. The first workstation that starts Wonder Lister automatically becomes the “master” computer as far as processing of background tasks is concerned. If for any reason, the “master” workstation goes down, then, one of the remaining workstations will assume the role of the “master”. No user intervention is needed for this to work.

However, there may be times when you need to “Pause” this background processing for a while. You can “Pause” (and “Continue”) using the main menu option:

Tools -> Options -> Manage status of background tasks

“Pausing” all the background tasks should be done only when absolutely needed because not just the synchronization of data with eBay is impacted but also any pending Wonder Lister scheduled listings won’t be processed.


How does eBay Duplicate Listing Policy impacts you

eBay’s Duplicate Listings Policy states

“The duplicate listings policy is designed to help you list in a way that makes it easy for buyers to find and compare items that interest them.

You can’t have more than one fixed price listing of an identical item at the same time. 

You can have more than one auction-style listing for identical items. However, only one duplicate auction-style listing without bids appears on eBay at a time. Separate listings may be created for the same item on different eBay sites, as long as the international shipping options don’t result in the listings cluttering the search results of any individual site.”

So, how does Wonder Lister helps you?

In Wonder Lister, there is a system folder called “Potential Duplicates” which displays those active listings that APPEARS to be duplicate. You can look at each such listing to confirm if they really are duplicate and take appropriate action (may be End potentially duplicated listings). This would go a long way in ensuring that your account does not get suspended by eBay.



eBay error: Auth token is hard expired, user needs to generate a new token for this application

This error indicates that the authorization you gave Wonder Lister to talk to eBay on your behalf has expired. Therefore, Wonder Lister is no longer able to communicate with eBay.

To resolve this, please go to the main menu option:

Tools -> Options -. eBay Accounts

Select each of your accounts one by one and do Reauthorize.

Once all accounts have been (re)authorized, restart Wonder Lister.


Difference between Bulk duplicate and Mass duplicate

In Wonder Lister, you have two options to duplicate multiple existing eBay listing at once. They are:

  • Bulk Duplicate
  • Mass Duplicate

Bulk Duplicate:

In this case, you select ONE listing and duplicate it ‘N’ times. ‘N’ new listings identical to the one you started with are created.

Mass Duplicate:

In this case, you select ‘N’ listings and duplicate each one of them once. Thus, you still land up with ‘N’ new listings.
